Okay, from
2 / (3^2x) = 12
we can rearrange the terms and get
3^2x = 2/12 = 1/6
take the log of both sides
log 3^2x = log 1/6
now use the power rule
2x log 3 = - log 6
and
x = (- log 6) / (2 log 3)
