That depends.  What base?
If you mean base 10, then they differ by roughly one-half.
\ =\ 1.7\ \ \Rightarrow\ \ x_1\ \approx\ 50) and
 and \ =\ 2.0\ \ \Rightarrow\ \ x_2\ = 100) 
 
That's why a 0.3 increase in the Richter scale number means the earthquake was twice as big.
