Could you please help me understand how to go about evaluating log4(1/16). I have had trouble in understanding logarithms, and I don't know how to type an equation like this in my calculator (TI-84) or go about solving it by hand.
---------------
Let x = log4(1/16)
---
Notice:
base = 4
exponent = log = x
result = (1/16)
--------
Equation:
4^x = (1/16)
---
4^x = 4^(-2)
---
x = -2
