log9x = 1/2
I believe 9 is the base.

log(base 9)of x = 1/2 is the same thing as 9^(1/2) = x.
Now, 9^(1/2) = sqrt{9}, where sqrt = square root for short.
Then sqrt{9} = x
3 = x
The value of x is 3.
