Question 315093: I am being asked to find the value of x.
log6 216 = x
I am certain that x = 3 but can not simplify to show how I got this answer. Please help

Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log(base 6)216 = x can be written as 6^(x) = 216.
The number 6 raised to what power will yield 216?
As you said, x = 3 because you must multiply 6 by itself 3 times to get 216.
In other words, 6 x 6 x 6 = 216. Therefore, x = 3.
