Question 29314: 1/4(16x^4y)/3/4(256xy^3) i'm to simplify this, what rule is applied here I'm not sure as I've been struggling in Algebra.
Answer by Nate(3500) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/4(16x^4y)/3/4(256xy^3)
is the same as
(1/4)(y)(16)(x^4).. X^3
---------------- = ---------
(3/4)256xy^3 ...... 48Y^2
When you move something from the numerator to denominator or vice versa, the exponent changes signs.
