Question 290805: Process for solving
log3 ^X + log3 ^(x-8)=2

Answer by nerdybill(7384)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assuming you mean "log base 3":

x = {-1, 9}
But, if you try to apply the solutions you'll find that -1 is an "extraneous" solution so you must toss it out leaving:
x = 9
