For the first part, just get out your calculator and use it to evaluate the equation for the various values of x. (To raise a number like 3 to a power, use the button the looks like "^" or "".)

For the asymptote, exponential equations will have a horizontal asymptote. This is true because it is impossible to raise a positive number to any power and get either zero or a negative number!

If your equation is
then the y value is a power of 3 and, as such, it can never be zero or negative. So y = 0 will be a horizontal asymptote.

If your equation is
then y is 4 less than a power of 3. Since the power of 3 cannot be zero or negative, then, after we subtract 4 from the power of 3, y cannot be -4 or any number less than -4. So y = -4 is a horizontal asymptote.
