Question 270466: I have apparently become to reliant on my calculator. I am not sure how to show the work for this problem. Can someone please help or get me headed in the right direction?
log 2x = log 3 + log (x - 4)

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log 2x = log 3 + log (x - 4)
;
Adding logs the same as multiply
log(2x) = log(3(x-4))
:
log(2x) = log(3x-12)
therefore
2x = 3x - 12
+12 = 3x - 2x
12 = x

You can check it on your calc
