Question 268963: Evaluate the logarithmic equation for three values of x that are greater than -1, three values of x that are between 0 and -1, and at x = -1. Show your work. Use the resulting ordered pairs to plot the graph; submit the graph via the Dropbox. State the equation of the line asymptotic to the graph (if any).
y = log2 (x + 2)
This is how I did the problem. I just need to know if I am on the right track or completely wrong. Thank you!
The exponential equation is:
2^y = x + 2
y = 3, 2^3 = x + 2
8 = x + 2
6 = x
y = 2, 2^2 = x + 2
4 = x + 2
2 = x
y = 1, 2^1 = x + 2
2 = x + 2
0 = x
y = 0, 2^0 = x + 2
1 = x + 2
-1 = x
y = .8, 2^.8 = x + 2
1.74 = x + 2
.25 = x
y = .6, 2^.6 = x + 2
1.51 = x + 2
.48 = x
y = .3, 2^.3 = x + 2
1.23 = x + 2
.77 = x

Looks good to me. all you have to do is plot the coordinates. Submit the graph. Vertical asymptote at
x = -2,
