5e^x + 12 = 27
5e^x = 27 - 12
5e^2 = 15
Take natutal log of both sides.

ln(5e^x) = ln15
x(ln5e) = ln15
Divide both sides by ln5e to get an approximate answer, which is always the case with logs.
NOTE: lne = 1 and so, ln5e becomes 5 times 1 or 5.
x ≈ ln15/5
x ≈ 0.54161004
Round your answer to two decimal places.
Then we get x ≈ 0.54
