A couple of ways. You can always open a blank Excel spreadsheet and type =log(.25,6) and then hit Enter.
Lacking a spreadsheet, you can either use a scientific calculator or a table of logarithms to either base 10 or e along with the base conversion formula:
\ =\ \frac{\log_c(x)}{\log_c(b)})
So:
\ =\ \frac{\log\left(\frac{1}{4}\right)}{\log(6)}\ =\ \frac{\ln\left(\frac{1}{4}\right)}{\ln(6)})
You can do your own calculator work. By the way, the best you will ever be able to do is a numerical approximation.
