Question 241678:
Consider the function f(x) = 2x² - 20x – 1. What is the minimum value and it occurs at x = __________
Answer by scott8148(6628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the minimum is at the vertex, on the axis of symmetry
x = -(-20) / 2(2) = 5
f(5) = 2(5^2) - 20(5) - 1 = 50 - 100 - 1 = -51
