Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
How much louder is a mp3 player (100dB) to a crying baby (80dB)?
---------------------
MP3 : 10log[mp3/Po] = 100dB
log[mp3]-log[Po] = 10
-------------------------------
baby : 10log[baby/Po] = 80 db
log[baby]-log[Po] = 8
--------------------------------
Subtract the baby log equation from the mp3 log equation to get:
log[mp3]-log[baby] = 2
log[mp3/baby] = 2
mp3/baby = 10^2 = 100
mp3 loudness = 100*baby loudness
