Question 212126: Express as a single logarithm, simplify if possible
log(w)(x^2-64)-log(w)(x-8)
I am wondering if I did this correctly
log(w)[(x^2-64)-(x-8)]
Thank you

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
No, when you subtract logs, you divide the arguments.
Instead of (x^2-64)-(x-8), it should be (x^2-64)/(x-8), which then equals (x+8)
log(w)(x^2-64)-log(w)(x-8)=log(w)(x+8)
