You could use natural logs (logs to the base e).
6%5E%281-x%29+=+e Take the ln of both sides.
%281-x%29ln%286%29+=+ln%28e%29 But ln(e) = 1, so
%281-x%29ln%286%29+=+1 Divide both sides by ln(6)
1-x+=+1%2Fln%286%29
x+=+1+-+%281%2Fln%286%29%29 Use your calculator to find ln(6).
x+=+1+-+0.558
x+=+0.442
