Question: Use systematic trial and error to evaluate log50. (2 marks) Answer by vleith(2983) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A log the the exponent you raise 10 to in order to obtain a specific vlaue.
So you know that = 10
and {10^2))) = 100
So Log(50) is between 1 and 2
50 is a little less that halfway between 10 and 100. But logs are exponential. So try 1.5.
What is = 31.6
Try 1.75 = 56.23
Sp it is close to 1.75, just a little less
Try 1.7 = 50.11
That's close enough for me.
Log(50) = 1.699
