Question 170498: log5(X-4)= 2-log5(14-X)
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log5(X-4)= 2-log5(14-X)
log5(x-4) + log5(14-x) = 2
log5[14x -x^2 -56 + 4x] = 2
log5[-x^2+18x-56] = 2
-x^2+18x-56 = 5^2
-x^2 + 18x - 56 - 25 = 0
x^2 - 18x + 81 = 0
(x-9)^2 = 0
x = 9
