Question 155589: I'm horribly stuck on this graph question. I need to look at both of the graphs listed below, and for each one sepratly answer all of the following questions:
What can you say about the function graphed here. Explain your reasoning: Is it a log or an exponential? For an exponential, is the exponent x or -x? What is the asymptote (is it x-asymptote or y-asymptote)? Which directions and how many units is it shifted?
I need to answer that question for both of the following graphs:

And the Second Graph:

I hope that the links will work. I don't even understand what it is i need to look at to answer the questions. So the correct answers and how to get those answers would be appericiated so much. I dont know what I'd do without all of the genorous help that you tutors offer. Thank you in advance for your time!
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What can you say about the function graphed here. Explain your reasoning: Is it a log or an exponential? For an exponential, is the exponent x or -x? What is the asymptote (is it x-asymptote or y-asymptote)? Which directions and how many units is it shifted?
----------
1st Graph:
Is it a log or an exponential: log
----------------------------------------
For an exponential is the exponent x or -x
It is not exponential.
--------------------------------
What is the asymptote (is it x-asymptote or y-asymptote): x = 2
---------------------------------
Which directions and how many units is it shifted?
Ans: 2 to the right
====================================================================
2nd Graph:
Is it a log or an exponential?: exponential
--------------------------
For an exponential, is the exponent x or -x?: -x ; it is a decay function
----------------------------
What is the asymptote (is it x-asymptote or y-asymptote)? It is a y asymptote
but it is hard to tell from the graph what the equation is. Maybe y = 1.
-----------------------------
: Which directions and how many units is it shifted?
2 to the right

Stan H.
