Question 1061003: Use the appropriate change of base formula to approximate the Logarithm.
log3/5(1000)
Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If this is log (3/5) of 1000,
log 10 1000/log 10 (3/5)
3/log 10 (6/10);
log 10 (6/10)=log 10 6-log 10 1=0.778-1=-0.222
3/-0.222=--13.513
(3/5)^-13.513=993.52
if I do this without rounding, the log is -13.5227
That makes sense as the minus sign inverts the fraction, so it is (5/3) raised to that positive power.
