Question 1043512: Solve
log(2k + 4)= 1+ logk
Is this statement true? Why or why not?
log(-3)+log(-4)=log12

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve
log(2k + 4)= 1+ logk
log(2k+4) - log(k) = 1
As a single log
= 1
Find the antilog of both sides
= 10
2k + 4 = 10k
4 = 10k - 2k
4 = 8k
k = 4/2
k = 1/2
:
Is this statement true? Why or why not?
No, you can't find the log of a negative number
log(-3)+log(-4)=log12
