Assume this is the problem

subtract 20 from both sides

using natural logs

the log equiv of exponents
(x-8)*ln(7) = ln(275)
divide both sides by ln(7)
x - 8 =
use the calc
x - 8 = 2.88645
x = 2.88645 + 8
x = 10.88645
