Question 1028763: Solve the problem and express your answer to the nearest tenth.
For a certain strain of bacteria, the number of bacteria present after t hours is given by the equation
Q = Q0e0.23t,
where Q0 represents the initial number of bacteria. How long will it take 600 bacteria to increase to 6000 bacteria?
Please help me solve this problem. Thank you.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
For a certain strain of bacteria, the number of bacteria present after t hours is given by the equation
Q = Qo*e^(0.23t_
where Qo represents the initial number of bacteria. How long will it take 600 bacteria to increase to 6000 bacteria?
------
6000 = 600*e^(0.23t)
----
e^(0.23t) = 10
------
0.23t = ln(10)
------
t = ln(10)/0.23
------
time = 10.01 hours
----------------------
