Question 97931: Hello I have a trigonometry problem which I get two answers for. Would you please be able to tell me which is correct. Ta
It asks me to convert 3 radians into revolutions showing 3 decimal places.
rad/2*pie = no of revolutions
= 4.712
however if I place the 2*pie into brackets my answer
= 0.477
Would you therefore please be able to assist me. Thank you so very much.
Cheers

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/(2*pi) = 0.47746...
---------------
When you enter 3/2*(pi) into your calculator
it divides the 3 by 2 gettiing 1.5 then it mul
multiplies 1.5 and pi to get 4.7123...
-----------
That shows you how important parentheses are.
