X DISTANCE IS (3+1)=4 THUS THE MID POINT IS 4/2-1=2-1=1
Y DISTANCE IS (9-5)=4 THUS THE Y MIDPOINT IS 4/2+5=2+5=7
THUS THE MID POINT IS (1,7)
TO PROVE THIS USE GRAPH PAPER & PLOT THE TWO POINTS , DRAW A LINE & DIVIDE IT IN HALF LOCATING THE MIDPOINT.
