Question 891124: The length of the wall is 17 m more than its width. If the area of the wall is 60 square meter, which of the following could be its length?
Answer by hamsanash1981@gmail.com(151) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let width be x then length = X+17
area = 60
x(x+17) = 60
x^2+17x -60 = 0
(x+20)(x-3) = 0
x=-20, x=3
ignoring negative we have x = 3
length = 3+17
=20 m
