If x+y over 2 = 3x-p over 4, find a formula for x
=
cross multiply
2(3x-p) = 4(x+y)
6x - 2p = 4x + 4y
6x - 4x = 4y + 2p
2x = 4y + 2p
Divide by 2
x = 2y + p
