Question 734422: What happens to the area of a circle if you double the radius? What happens if you double the diameter? What happens if you triple the radius?
Answer by lynnlo(4176) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
EXAMPLE:
AREA OF A CIRCLE=π TIMES RADIUS TIMES RADIUS
SO IF THE DIAMETER IS 10CM
THE AREA WOULD BE π TIMES 5 TIMES 5=78.55
IF YOU DOUBLE THE RADIUS
THE AREA WOULD BE π TIMES 10 TIMES 10=314.2
SO IF YOU DOUBLED THE RADIUS OF A CIRCLE
THE AREA WOULD INCREASE 4 TIMES
