Find the equation of the line that is equidistant from the points (-3,-2) and (2,3). Write your equation in general form.
-----------------
The mid-pt is ((-1/2),(1/2))
If every point of the desired line is equidistant from
from the given points it is perpendicular to the line
through the given points.
------
Need to find the slope between the given points:
slope = [3--2]/[-3-2]=5/-5=-1
Therefore the slope of the desired line is +1.
-------------
Find the equation of the line with slope=1 and passing thru ((-1/2),(1/2))
y-1/2=1(x--!/2)
y=x+(1/2)+(1/2)
y=x+1 is the equation of the line all of whose points
are equidistant from the given points.
By the way, I have never heard of the "general" form of a line.
