 This question was in my math book and i don't understand it. It reads "Find the coordinates for all the points on a number line whose distance from -1 is equal to 3.5. Can you explain?

Ans: |-1-x| = 3.5

-----

Solve:

-1-x = 3.5 or -1-x = -3.5

x = -4.5 or x = 2.5
