FIND THE HORIZONTAL ASYMPTOTE OF THE RATIONAL FUNCTION f(x)= 8x-12 0VER 4x-2.
----------
Since the highest power of the variable is x^1 in both the numerator and denominator the horizontal asymtote is y=8/4=2
---------
Another way to do this is to divide numerator and denominator by x;
then take the limit as x goes to infinity. The result is y=2
