Question 463993: Find D in the simplest radical form. Right square pyramid with equilateral trianglar faces. The sides and base are all 8. d is in the middle of the pyramid with a dotted line down the middle. I am just super confused on how to do this problem. I have tried to find the formula in my textbook but can't figure it out. Thank you

I believe we are looking for the long side of a 30 60 90 triangle.
The short side is 4, the hypotenuse is 8, the long side (what we need) is therefore s radical 3 / 2, this works out to 2 radical 3.
I believe this is the d we are looking for.
