You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The surface of a cylinder is composed of two parts: the areas of the bases and the lateral surface area. If the base is assumed to be a circle, the area of one base is just pi%2Ar%5E2 so the area of both these bases is 2pi%2Ar%5E2. The lateral surface area is essentially a rectangle with height h and base equal to the circumference of the circle. The circumference is 2pi%2Ar, so the lateral surface area is 2pi%2Ar%2Ah. Add this with 2pi%2Ar%5E2 to obtain the surface area.

Wait, are you asking whats the formula for a cylinder?? If so here it is:
pi:(3.14;22/7;or pi symbol.your choice)so anyways its 2B%2BCh( the 2 BASES+CIRCUMFERENCE x HEIGHT)so the real translation of that formula is this formula :2xPixR%28radius%29%5E2%2B2xPixRxH
example: A cylinders radius is 4cm and its height is 10cm.
Formula:2xPixR%5E2+%2B+2xPixRxH
Solution: 2xPix%284%29%5E2+%2B+2xPix%284%29x%2810%29=352cm <-----Answer;just plug ALL THAT in your calculator and remember,USE 3.14 or 22/7,or the Pi symbol for Pi.!
Hope this helped!
