if u look at the problem u will notice they doubled the size of the room, so if the room cost 200 then doubled it, it would cost twice as much so it would be $400.

Do they charge per square foot?
10ft+%2A+12ft+=+120ft%5E2
120%5E2%2F200+=+++1.66667ft%5E2
So they charge $1.67 per square foot
Now the larger room:
20ft+%2A+24ft+=+480ft%5E2
480ft%5E2+%2A+%281.67%2Fft%5E2%29+=+800
It will cost $800

The room is not doubled.Each dimension is doubled 2*2=4
2*10*2*12/10*12=4 times the other room.
so 200*4=$800
