Step 1. Multiply to get rid of parenthesis.



Step 2. Rearranging the left side of the equation and combining like terms in x yields



Step 3. Subtract from both sides of the equation.





Step 4. Subtract 3x from both sides of the equation.





Step 5. Divide by 3 to both sides of the equation





Step 6. Substitute into original equation
