We know that lines that are parallel have the same slopes. So we must first write our equation in y=mx+b format to find the slope which is m in this equation. re-writing our equation into this format we add 10y on both sides which gives us 10y=6x+5 now divide both sides by 10 and y=6/10+5/10 simplifing is y=3/5x-1/2 so our slope is 3/5. the formula for point slope is y-k = m(x-h) where (h,k) is any point on the line. Our given point is z(-5,3). so substituting our know facts we get
y-3= 3/5(x-(-5)) which equals y-3=3/5(x+5)....multiply and simplify to y=mx+b format y=3/2x +4
answer: y=3/5x+6
