: In the problem I'm working on, I have to draw a scalene triangle with set side lengths, but the book doesn't tell me the angle measures, which would make the problem a lot easier. We haven't learned a formula to calculate angles from side lengths in class yet, so I'm wondering if you know, because I've encountered problems like this before, and wondered if there's an easier way. Thanks for your help!

all the sides of a triangle are connected to each other
1. draw a line that is the length of the 1st side
2. set the opening on a compass to the length of the 2nd side
3. put the point of the compass on one end of the 1st side and draw a semicircle with the ends in line with the side
4. reset the opening on the compass to the length of the 3rd side
5. put the point of the compass on the other end of the 1st side and draw a semicircle that cuts the first semicircle
6. connect the ends of the 1st side to the intersection of the two arcs
