The diameter of a table tennis ball is ideally set at 40mm(40 millimeters), an actual table tennis ball is allowed to deviate from this ideal diameter by + or - .5mm. For your problem, I am just using 40mm.

a) surface area of sphere (table tennis ball) is calculated by:
surface area(SA) = 4 * pi * r^2, where pi = 22/7, r is the radius
note our radius = 40 / 2 = 20mm
SA = 4 * (22/7) * 20^2
SA = 5028.571428571 approx 5028.57mm
*******************************************************************************
b) circumference(C) = pi * D where pi = 22/7 and D is the diameter
C = (22/7) * 40
c = 125.714285714 approx 125.71mm
