=-3.5+(-1.4)+(-0.5)+3+5+1+2
=-4.9+2.5+5+1+2
=-4.9+2.5+8
=-2.3+8
=5.7

I'm assuming you want the sum of all of the numbers right?

You're going great so far. However, you've made a mistake on this line

=-2.3+8

Notice -4.9 plus 2.5 is -2.4 (not -2.3). So it should be

=-2.4+8

which adds to

=5.6


So the sum of every number is 5.6
