You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x%2B%281%2F3%29=2%28x-%282%2F3%29%29-6x
start by doing whats in the parenthesis.
x%2B%281%2F3%29=2x-%284%2F3%29-6x
combine like terms.
x%2B%281%2F3%29=-%284%2F3%29-4x
get the x's on one side and the thirds on one side.
x%2B4x%2B%281%2F3%29=-%284%2F3%29-4x%2B4x
5x%2B%281%2F3%29=-4%2F3
5x%2B%281%2F3%29-%281%2F3%29=-%284%2F3%29-%281%2F3%29
5x=-5%2F3
divide by 5. Remember when you divide a fraction by a number, take the number and make it a reciprocal.
5x%2F5=%28-5%2F3%29%2A%281%2F5%29
x=-1%2F3

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

x+1/3=2(x-2/3)-6x

x+%2B+1%2F3+=+2%28x+-+2%2F3%29+-+6x
x+%2B+1%2F3+=+2x+-+4%2F3+-+6x ------ Distributing
3x + 1 = 6x - 4 - 18x ----- Multiplying by LCD, 3
3x + 1 = - 12x - 4
3x + 12x = - 4 - 1
15x = - 5
x = %28-+5%29%2F15, or highlight_green%28-+1%2F3%29
You can do the check!!
