Question 774442: Hi. I'm very confused In how to get the answer to this problem: t-3+2(t+2) I tried to understand the problem at first, but my mind went to a blank. I asked
My friend to help me out after school, but all she gave me was the answer: 3t+1, but didn't show me how to solve it, and now I'm completely confused and desperate for help to get a good grade in my class. I hope you can help me out, thanks so much!

Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
t -3 + 2(t + 2)
first multiply what inside the brackets by +2, (distribute)
this removes the brackets
t - 3 + 2t + 4
add the like terms
t + 2t - 3 + 4
resulting in
3t + 1
