Start with the given equation

When you divide fractions, you multiply the first fraction by the inverse of the 2nd fraction

Factor out 3 out of 3y+6 and 4 out of 4y+8

cancel like terms

Notice 8 and 20 have a common factor of 4, divide both of these numbers by 4

Notice reduces to


Now just multiply straight across
This is your simplified result
