Question 7090: Problem: 4/2n > 8 (Note, the > has a line under it)
Hi, I'm trying to help my child over the phone with math. She has the above problem.
I don't have a book that explains the symbols and can't find one one the net.
Could you help me with that?
Also, could you explain the problem to me. I think it's 2 times n divided into 4 (something) 8
Thanks,
Dan

Answer by Earlsdon(6294)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I don't seem able to show the symbol correctly but this is an inequality and it reads:
"4 divided by 2n is greater-than-or-equal-to 8"
Inequalities are solved much like equations:
Multiply both sides of the >= by 2n
Simplify.
Divide both sides by 16.
Simplify.
or
The answer reads: n is less-than-or-equal-to 1/4
