Thanks, Anna

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. w/2+7=w/3+9
Subtract 7 from both sides to get:
w/2 = w/3 +2
Multiply thru by 6 to get:
3w = 2w +54
Subtract 2w from both sides to get:
w=54
-----------
2. 8y-4+3(y+7)=6y-3(y-3)
Apply the distributive law to get:
8y-4+3y+21 = 6y-3y+9
Combine like terms to get:
11y+17 = 3y+9
Subtract 17 from both sides to get:
11y=3y-8
Subtract 3y from both sides to get:
8y=-8
divide by 8 to get:
y=-1
