The thousandths place is the third one from the decimal point, because first would be tenths, then hundredths, then thousandths, and the number is 8. Since the number in the next place value is 9, which is higher than 5, 8 would be rounded to 9, and the rest of the numbers are erased, therefore your answer would be 8.219.
