Question 483048: this worksheet that I have follows:
Suppose you could perform operations in any order you like.
A) What are the different possible values of the expression, 10-5x2-3?
The answer to the 10-5x2-3=-3 BUT what does different possible values mean?
Is it the different ways you can put the 10-5x2-3??? Im so confused...
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You could have
10-5x2-3= 5 x -1 = -5
OR
10-5x2-3=10-10-3 = -3 (this is the correct answer since it follows the order of operations)
OR
10-5x2-3=10-5x(-1) = 10+5 = 15
OR
10-5x2-3=5x2-3=10-3=7
Assuming that order does not matter when it comes to performing the operations.
