Suppose that the temperature outside is dropping at a constant rate. At noon, the temperature is 70 degrees F and it drops to 58 degrees F at 5:00 P.M. How much did the temperature change each hour?

70-58 or a drop of 12 degree in 5 hour thus -12/5=-2.4 degrees per hour
