To answer this question you are going to use the FOIL method first, outside, inside, last.
(2x-1)(4x+1)
Step one multiply your first terms (2x)(4x) =
step two multiply your outside terms (2x)((1) = 2x
step three multiply your inside terms (-1)(4x) = -4x
step four multiply your last terms (1)(-1) = -1
so you have + 2x -4x - 1
