Question 266449: The width of a retangle is fixed at 15cm. What lengths will make the perimeter greater than 86cm?

The perimeter formula is
P = 2L + 2W
we know that we = 15, so we get
P = 2L + 30.
Now we want perimeter > 86, so we have
86 < 2L + 30
subtracting, we get
56 < 2L
dividing, we get
28 < L
