Question 25962: Expand and simplify 3w+2(w+x)
Answer by weepingwillowcats(10) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3w+2(w+x)
First you must simplify.
You can multiply 2 by w (2w) and then 2 again by x (2x)
This gets rid of the parenthesis and is called the distributive property of addition
Then restate the equation.
3w+2w+2x
Then combine your like terms to get:
5w+2x
That is as simplified as it can get.
Good luck
